Technical Construction File (TCF)

Technical Construction File (TCF) is the heart of the CE certification.

European, CE Marking Regulations provide for a mechanism of market surveillance.  This mechanism provides for:

o Prevention of entry of non-conforming products (at ports by customs)

o Withdrawal of non-conforming products from the market shelves

o Challenge the CE Mark where it appears that the marks has been affixed in appropriately

When the CE Mark on the product is challenged, it is the TCF that comes to the rescue of the manufacturer.  A proper CE Certification, after applying the correct CE Marking Directives, Harmonized Standards, proper Inspection and Testing, properly prepared TCF are the essential ingredients to demonstrate a proper CE Certification. 

A good and proper TCF is also a solid legal defense in the event of a claim after an accident.

Beware!  If the TCF is unable to demonstrate that the CE Mark is properly affixed, then the product is liable to be withdrawn and the manufacturer is liable to be blacklisted!!
