What are the benefits
of an Independent feeder? |

A mixed feeder has many
consumers connected on the same line. Sometimes, there are as many
as 150 customers on a single feeder.
The main disadvantage of a
mixed feeder is that in case of any small fault, like a fuse blowout, then
the distribution utility, say DHVBN, will have to disconnect the line, to fix
the fault. Thus there are frequent
power outages, and the consumer is forced to run the diesel generator set,
resulting in higher energy cost. Key
Benefits of an independent feeder are: · No power outages on account of
line maintenance; · Lower running of diesel generator
sets, resulting in energy cost savings; · Almost uninterrupted power
supply, and therefore significant savings from material wastages in sensitive
processes; Learn all about saving
