How
to get an independent feeder? |

First of all, you should be
technically eligible to have an independent feeder. Different distribution companies/ licensees
have different rules. In Haryana, the
consumer should have either 500 kW connected load or 500 KVA contract demand
to be eligible to apply for an independent feeder. Then one should conduct a survey
of the route of the feeder ascertain the technical feasibility. Thirdly an economic cost-benefit
analysis must be carried out. If the
powerhouse is too away, the cost may be prohibitive. One should consider one’s manufacturing
process too – how sensitive it is – what is the process loss
incurred if power goes frequently. If technical and economic viability is
there, one should certainly go for the independent feeder.
